I Began training in 1986 aged 13 after attending a demonstration held in Carnegie Leisure Centre, DUNFERMLINE.
I have taken a few breaks from training, but have always been involved in the club. I have only ever studied Taekwondo under my Instructor Mark Stutter.
I have taken part in competitions through out the UK as well as France & Switzerland. My best achievement to date was being a member of the Scotland team that came home as Swiss Champions, well deserved and a great trip away !!
I attained my 1st Dan aged 17, and have graded several times since. The last time was in April 2007 when I was awarded my 4th Dan. All of my gradings have been conducted by Grand Master Kim Yong Ho, throughout the UK, but never in Scotland !!
After my Instructor retired in 2006 myself & Paul are trying to keep the name of WTF Taekwondo alive in Fife, changing the Club name along the way to incorporate Paul’s Club to Pilsung Ecosse. After all the years of training & teaching I still enjoy coming to classes and seeing people trying their best to pick up new techniques.
I really hope that Pilsung continue to produce many Blackbelts that can continue the club name for years to come. Our classes are relaxed & informal, unlike the strict classes when I first started training, a refelction of how the club will adapt to keep up with the times.
I am very happily married and when not teaching spend time with my family, Kirsty, Kaitlyn, Liam and our newest addition Jaydyn.
Likes: People who are honest and train hard
Dislikes: People who don’t give 100% effort 100% of the time. (Students be warned)
Must have: A good laugh, people will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere they learn in. We like to have a laugh!!!!!!!!!!
MOTTO: PILSUNG – Certain Victory!!!!!!!
